The Manifesto

I grew up in a country I can’t call my own. A foreigner, on paper. A citizen, at heart. I moved from Malaysia to Brunei in 1996. I have lived in Brunei for 17 years. Home to me depends on which side of the border I am. My poems are reflective of this conflict of identities, a need to belong and to establish roots- themes inherent in children of immigrants.
